Taking the next step:• Where can I get a Bible?• How do I ask Jesus for salvation? • How do I learn more about Christianity • How do I find a good Christian church? Where can I get a Bible? If the explanations of 100 Bible prophecies featured on this site have given you any indication that the Bible is the word of God, or that it might be the word of God, then consider opening a Bible and reading part of it. We recommend getting a Bible that has footnotes explaining the meaning of various Bible passages and historical references, such as the Concordia Self-Study Bible NIV (New International Version). It is written in an easy-to-understand style and is available through Amazon.com and many bookstores. The price ranges from about $30 to $40. Or, you can buy a Bible for about $10 or less, without the footnotes. We believe that if a person reads from the Bible's book of Matthew, Mark, Luke or John, and that if they do so with an open heart and an open mind, they will begin to see for themselves that the Bible truly is the word of God. See for yourself whether the Bible speaks to you and reveals itself to you as being the true word of God. How do I ask Jesus for salvation? If you are sincere about asking Jesus to be your savior, then go into some quiet corner and say something from the heart, asking Jesus to forgive your sins and to guide your life. Just speak from the heart, with honesty and sincerity. You will find in your heart the words you need to say. If it helps, here are some words that we have written that reflect what we said when we asked Jesus to come into our lives: "Jesus, forgive my sins. Come into my life and guide me. I know that you are the Son of God, the only Son of God, and that you died for my sins, and that you rose again to life eternal and that through you, my sins are forgiven so that I too may have eternal life in the kingdom of God in the kingdom of Heaven. You, Jesus, are the only salvation. Please come into my life and guide me, Jesus." We cannot earn salvation because we cannot be perfect. We are to try to be perfect, and we are to do the things that true Christians do, like helping other people and being kind to other people. But we cannot earn salvation. Only through Jesus can we have salvation. Ask Jesus to come into your life and guide you. How do I learn more about Christianity? Many Christian churches offer classes that teach people about Jesus, the Bible and Christianity. Call or visit a local Christian church in your area and see if they have a class schedule that is convenient for you. And, many bookstores sell books that explain Christianity. We have a short article about Christianity here: •Christianity basics How do I find a good Christian church? These are our recommendations if you are looking for a Christian church to attend: 1. Leaf through the phonebook under Christian churches and make a few phone calls to them. 2. Ask if the church believes that the Bible is the word of God, and that both the Bible's Old Testament and New Testament are the word of God. 3. Pray to Jesus to guide you in finding the right church. 4. Go to a few churches and sit in on at least part of the service. That way, you can get a sense of the preaching style of the pastor, minister, reverend or priest and decide whether this person is sincere and worthy of being your pastor, minister, reverend or priest. 5. Read part of the Bible every day, even if you just read one sentence per day. Get a Bible with footnotes, such as the Concordia Self-Study Bible NIV translation. They can cost about $30 or $40, but they have helpful footnotes at the bottom of each page that help explain what various Bible passages mean. If the information in this Web site has made an impact on you, then we urge you to turn your life to Christ. The moment you were conceived you were given eternal life. The question, according to the Bible, is whether you choose to spend that eternity in heaven or hell. - George Konig Copyright ©1999-2008 George Konig and 100prophecies.org. All rights reserved.
